Welcome to THE BEST natural light studio in St. Louis! With our huge windows spanning 65 feet and our 12 foot ceilings, you can expect to be engulfed in GORGEOUS sunlight throughout the day. We are conveniently located in South City surrounded by the history and charm of the Cherokee District. The location was meticulously chosen so that we can serve as many families as possible from both the Missouri and Illinois side pretty centrally. She’s a beaut! Your next branding project would be perfect here.

Hi! I’m Meg. The creative behind the camera, creator of The Modern Mother, MamaTog, and owner of The South Side Studio.

I create unique experiences for my clients.

I am a faith filled adventure-seeking hopeless romantic who photographs the most amazing moments.

My biggest blessings call me “Mom”.

While I wildly obsess over weddings and lifestyle imagery, I also serve creatives and entrepreneurs by providing personalized branding sessions, mentorships, marketing strategies, and more over at The Modern Mother.

I am the creator of MamaTog. A hands-on photography course that will get you ready and comfortable to document your own babies. It will change your life!

Any questions?

1. INITIAL INQUIRY
  - We’ll check our calendar to see if your date is available. If Meg is already committed to another wedding, we offer a “Meg approved” associate shooter to document the day on her behalf. Don’t worry, she still does all of the communication, engagement session, editing, and delivers the gallery! To guarantee Meg, reserve your date as early as you can.
  - If the date is open, we’ll hop on a call or head out on a coffee date to make sure we’re a good fit. We want you to be in love with our style and our approach, because finding the right fit for what you’re looking for is so important.
2. BOOKING
  - This is where we’ll make everything official to lock in your date. We’ll send you a portal link and password to your contract, deposit, and tons of information to get you started!
3. ENGAGEMENT SESSION
  - This is one of our favorite parts of the process! We’ll plan outfits for save the dates, invites, and create content for socials and wedding websites. All fun here!
4. PRE-WEDDING DETAILS
  - We’ll send over a personalized wedding timeline template for you to start working on as well as questionnaires to fill out. This helps us get to know all of those special little details you’ve been dreaming of!
5. WEDDING
  - The day is here! It’s time to put the plans into action and let the day unfold into the most memorable day of your lives. We’ve got you and all of those little moments that matter.
6. POST-WEDDING
  - Sneak peeks will be posted on socials within 48 hours. Full galleries will be ready for reveal in 6-8 weeks. Wedding albums will be available for pickup or delivery 2-3 weeks after the reveal.
- We’ve decided to create a scheduling system for our clients where you can choose the date and time that works best for your family. Choose the service, date and time, and then pay the deposit. Easy Peasy. We’ll reach out by text message so we can communicate before the session.
- Maternity sessions are recommended anywhere between 30 and 34 weeks. It truly is when you feel the most comfortable, so the actual date may vary for each mother.
- Newborn sessions are loosely scheduled a few months before baby arrives. We only take a limited number of newborns per month, so be sure to pre-book. The actual session will take place within the first two weeks of baby’s life and can be done in the studio or within the comforts of your own home.
- It varies by the type of session and what vibe you’re looking for.
- Newborn, milestone, and branding sessions are normally best with soft even lighting conditions. Also dependent on the time of the year, but a good window for these are between 10am-3pm
- Families, engagement sessions, seniors, etc are really magical during golden hour. The golden hour is the last hour of sunlight before the sunsets. It is GORGEOUS!

- No two sessions are alike, but one consistent approach we take is that all “wall-worthy” images are delivered. Keeping images hostage on our hard drive feels illegal, and we want you to have the most options. Over-deliver > Under-deliver each and every time.
- Most clients who book our services are in love with our bright and clean aesthetic. We suggest putting babies, toddlers, children, and parents in white, beige, taupe, or other natural shades. WHITE IS THE BEST FOR THE STUDIO! A great way to add diversity but maintain a clean and modern aesthetic is to use various textures or add in a minimal pattern. We have a children’s client closet full of natural tones that help focus on their tiny features as well as a wardrobe guideline to help style your family. We are here for you to bounce ideas off of!
- Yes, you’ll want your own camera so you can capture all of those perfect little details of your babies. If you don’t have one, we’ll guide you in finding something within budget. We’ll help you choose the right body and lens to give you the best bang for your buck. You can find more information under the tab “MamaTog”
